The MSigDB Perturbation1 ontology contains gene sets that represent gene expression signatures of genetic and chemical perturbations. A number of these gene sets come in pairs: an xxx_UP (xxx_DN) gene set representing genes induced (repressed) by the perturbation.


The human hg19 ontology contains 2,374 gene sets, 16,150 genes, and 238,746 associations.

The human hg18 ontology contains 2,374 gene sets, 16,153 genes, and 238,720 associations.

The mouse mm9 ontology contains 2,373 gene sets, 14,631 genes, and 221,705 associations.


All data for this ontology was downloaded on September 30, 2010 (MSigDB version 3.0).
